Your story matters!

A week or two ago, I felt convicted to ask my mom and brother in the kitchen randomly, about their relationships with God. I felt Him pulling on my heart strings.

So I started trying to conversate and asked a few questions in a gentle way. I first asked, "What’s a moment in your life that paved a way as being a Christian?" My brother suggested church camps and my mom opened up a bit about an experience she had once. The 2nd question was, "What was different and what changed for you when you went from just believing in God to actually having a relationship with Him? This I mainly asked my brother. But here in that moment it got silent. Hesitantly my brother said I guess just growing closer to God. And I was chill and just said yeah that’s great—which it is, but I felt the question was unanswered. It’s like he didn’t see the transformation and power that it had in his life. Like his heart didn't understand the change. He never really spent much time in God's word which worried me. But my point through this experience, is that it really opened my eyes to: how many lukewarm Christian’s there are out there, even in just the friends and family around us.

( If my brother is reading this, please don't get mad lol. I know you have faith & I believe you're going to grow in time and find that deeper inner personal relationship through God's power and plans. )

And that perfectly leads me into my last question, which is, "What would you say if you were asked what your testimony was? Their first first responses were unsure, feeling like they didn't really have a testimony. They assumed that because nothing big and bad happened in their life that their story didn’t have an impact. And it broke my heart and reminded me of a conversation I had with a friend where we were saying that everyone has a testimony. Even if there wasn’t some huge experience that God placed in your life, your story is still impactful. The simple little things along the way in your path’s life HAVE BIG PURPOSE. They may seem small but your story matters more than you know. You have a unique testimony that someone specific in this world needs to hear.

And like I said about my brother--it's a growing process. Our testimony never ends.  It's not like we have our story set up perfectly to say and leave it there. We have to be open to more to come in the future. Because God is not done, He is not finished with your story.

So to the ones out there who feel like they don't have a testimony or that theirs is not powerful enough compared to others, let me gently remind you you're wrong. YOUR STORY MATTERS. Don't ever forget that. Live as though you are expectant that God is going to do incredible things in your life that will touch the hearts of others around you. Because it ei happen and it is true, even when you may not see it.

Our goal is to spread the good news of Jesus, not to put the spotlight on our hard experiences. We need to glorify God, and not our own strength. It's not about the making of our story, but the one who has made our story, planned out far beyond we know. It's ALL about Jesus. When you get the opportunity to share about your life, have courage that the Holy Spirit will help speak through you.

Please feel free to share your testimony or a special moment in your life with God, down in the comments. Or you can message me. I love to hear the different ways God has worked and will continue to. The details of His plans are so awe-strucking.

Lord, make more room for you in my families heart and for other families to come together in praise for you. Open our eyes and let us remember the power of our testimony.

In Jesus’ Name Amen
