Your pain has a purpose

I wanted to share this quote I found and it says, “God has chosen not to heal me, but to hold me. The more intense the pain, the closer His embrace.”- Joni Eareckson Tada. For a while, I didn’t understand why I have to go through so much pain, and still to today I can become frustrated and confused with why. Why God do I have to go through all these struggles?

‏‏‎

All of us have felt this way sometime in our lives, and it feels uncomfortable. We as humans just want life on an easier and better path. But in my journey I’ve realized this: Without our struggles we wouldn't be able to fully experience true joy and comfort from the Lord. If life were perfect and if God took away every bad thing from our lives, we would have no reason to reach out to Him.

‏‏‎

Sometimes we just need a push, a little alarm to wake us up, and help us find our way back to God, and closer to Him. We are given this time to learn to find peace in God: through the storm, through the mess, and allow Him to mold our broken pieces into something beautiful.

‏‏‎

Isn’t that what we want as Christians, to become more like the image of God. If that’s what you truly desire, then you will have to fight for it. But it will be worth it and rewarding, because God has something better on the other side. There is always a bigger story behind the pain. God is always up to something more. ‏‏‎

God created you and your life with purpose and intention. He has good intertwined in your story and every detail has meaning.

‏‏‎

We wish the pain would go away, but that is not guaranteed. What is guaranteed is that no matter what we go through, our God is always with us and has good for this season. And those are such powerful promises to hold on to every day.

‏‏‎

Circumstances in your life may feel bad at times, but God never leaves us there. He never leaves us with our broken pieces or the mess we made, but He instead embraces it and uses it as part of our purpose. That kind of love leaves me awestruck. He never runs away. He always chooses to stay, arms open wide.

‏‏‎

Your life is held in the arms of the creator. And your story is being beautifully written by our Heavenly Father. Surrender your plans and let Him guide you step by step on the purpose-filled journey He has for you.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. - Romans 8:28
