🌿 Hey everyone! I wanted to share some encouragement with you:
Here is a quote I read written by Leslie Ludy: “Continually ask yourself this question: Is this activity or conversation distracting me from Christ or causing me to adopt the ungodly values of the world? If the answer is yes, then you know it’s time to step away from that activity or conversation!”
I read this several weeks ago and saved it on my phone. But it just sat there for a while. Yet I feel God is pulling me back into the message because it’s so powerful to think about. And it’s a question that I think can be life changing if we are more aware of and put in the work. Which I definitely need to work on this too.
Reminder:
The things in this world will not last for eternity, so let us be consumed by God’s love, instead of being distracted.
Ask yourself:
Am I turning to the things of the world to satisfy me, or to Jesus Christ, the ultimate sustainer?
This verse describes it perfectly:
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. - 1 John 2:15-17
I hope you can reflect over this message and take it into your life! Save it to your phone. Set a reminder. Check in with yourself daily. Jesus is the only one that will fill your longings so let’s lift Him high and find rest in His peace!! 💗
