Three reminders:
God hears you.
God is always speaking to us.
God always answers prayers.
But when it comes to listening to God, it can be hard for us to hear Him. It’s frustrating to try and try, but get nothing back. Well, that’s not the full truth because God always responds back to us, it’s just a matter of what distractions of ours are getting in the way.
There are things that can be blocking your connection with God. For example…
1) You have not learned what His voice sounds like through Scripture
2) You have heard God but you rejected what He said
3) Your internal world is too loud
If you find yourself stuck in one of these ways, don’t panic, there is time to work on trying to change that. Transformation is possible. But practice is necessary to grow further. You need to surrender to God and let Him take reign in your heart.
Expect that you will get an answer. God WILL respond to you if you’ve asked for His voice. Getting an answer straight from God in the moment is what we often wish for. But sometimes it just might be later in the day, or even a week. It could come at any random moment, we just have to trust when that moment might be. God is going to speak to us at just the right time. Listen to Him throughout the day. Don’t give up on Him. He’s never given up on listening to you, so don’t give in and let the enemy win. God wants for us to hear His voice but the devil doesn’t want you to hear God’s voice.
Some tips to make it easier to hear God are…
• Get alone with Him in a quiet place
• Put on some worship music
• Pray what’s on your heart, give Him your burdens
• Just be still with Him and actually listen
• Ask God to show you what His voice sounds like
• Ask Him a question and then pay attention to what you feel or think that feels powerful or connected strongly with God
• Don’t give up when you can’t hear God, it takes practice, keep pursuing Him
