Starting the New Year, there can be so many expectations to do our new year resolutions and goals. But God doesn't call us to be perfect, we will mess up. But that doesn’t mean we have failed, it takes practice. God is simply happy for any way you are willing to grow closer to Him. So if you don’t know where to start, here is a list of ideas and tips I made for planning for the New Year:
• Do a Bible plan for the year—there are lots of options (I’m doing Daily Grace’s New Testament plan)
• Make a prayer board for the new year and get creative with it.
• Choose a word for the year. You could also choose a verse for the year, or a phrase. My word for the year is Cultivation.
• Reflect on your past year. Write down the ways God has been faithful to you, spoke to you, or any special moments with Him.
• Make time for daily Biblical affirmations
• Memorize more Scripture
• Get a Christian planner
• Wake up a bit earlier to spend time with God
• Read one book a month
• Take time to really study the Word deeply (I love to journal in my Bible)
• Practice gratitude
• Prioritize rest and focus on your mental health
And of course PRAYER! I like to do prayer journaling so I got a new notebook for this year. I wanna strive to pray to God throughout the day too. Or make your closet a pray room—I’ve tried doing that.
My favorite place to get Bible study resources is Daily Grace co. It’s really helped me and I highly suggest them.
I would love to hear what planning you’ve done so far to prepare for this year! Let me know in the comments! 🤍
