“The masks she wears”

A poem I wrote…

“The masks she wears”

Inside she keeps all her pain

Too afraid to be shown

She hides her face with masks she wears

so no one will ever know.

Though she may seem normal

at how she looks

Deep down she's falling apart

Looks like she has a beautiful soul

But inside's her broken heart.

The masks she wears

covers up the way she truly feels

Never can find a place

where she can take them off

and be real.

The masks she wear

May be a way to hide

the truth inside

You may feel angry and

ashamed at the way you hide.

But look at it as courage

The way your mask is worn

How strong you keep

yourself together

Even when you feel all torn
