“Fully seen”

This is a poem I wrote in the past called “Fully seen”. It is one of my favorites that I’ve written. I have always struggled with feeling misunderstood or invisible. I try to seek that assurance from others but I’m always left down. It is only when I come to the cross that I feel seen and safe. Jesus understands us like no other. I hope you can find peace in these truths. You are truly very seen. 💗

I just want to be heard but so often

I’m left feeling misunderstand

Yet when I set my eyes on my Heavenly Father

I find the one who sees every detail

and every depth of my pain

He knows me in a way I can’t even explain

So maybe I should stop looking

for someone to fill that void

Because I’ve learned that in this world

that is impossible to gain

Instead of fighting for the perfect image

that I so very long for

I look up above and lean onto His love

For here is a place that always remains

He is the one who calls me by name

His presence is enough to fill all of my heart

Despite the things that try to tear me apart

Nothing can take away how I’m held in your arms

This is my safe place, where I am fully seen
