Hey everyone! 🥰 Hope you’re doing well and are enjoying your week! This story happened a few weeks ago but I still wanted to share it cause it’s powerful!
I’ve been having to go to the dentist a lot recently because of cavities needing to be filled in. One day, the assistant dentist lady said this was the longest procedure she’s done. But we had a really good conversation.
When I first met her, she said she prayed for me before my procedure. And does the same for others. That really convicted my heart and I was like God I wanna be a person like that—already in prayer before a situation occurs. Not in the middle of it when you feel desperate, or not at the end after everything seems okay. But in prayer BEFORE it even happens! That’s the kind of trust I want in my God.
• So here’s a reminder:
Be ready, be expectant. There’s a battle to fight against the enemy and spiritual warfare to come so put on your the Armor of God and be prepared. Pray pray pray!!
🌊 The Conversation:
Throughout the dental procedure, me and the dentist lady reminded each other truths of God that filled up my soul. We talked about the goodness of God, the one who comforts and gives peace, the power of prayer and the one who gives our pain purpose. I related to so many things and felt God's presence in that office.
She even ended up sharing her testimony of being a lukewarm Christian, then going through years of loss and extreme struggles with grief. She realized she could be bitter & depressed, but she saw a better outlook. She took the upper hand by chosing humility and praying instead. She knew she had to surrender the control she held on to for so long. And each time pain hit her hard, God brought her through even stronger. And God worked it all out for her good!
GOD IS OUR REDEEMER! What a precious promise to hold on to. 💕
It made me tear up because of how beautiful and open & willing she was to share how passionate she was about Jesus.
The connection we had—a deep real talk about faith and God was so refreshing. I loved sharing our passion for Jesus. I may never see her again, but our one encounter was enough to bridge the gap of something I’ll always remember. Thank you God!
_______
Some powerful things I heard from her...
✨God is omnipresent, His presence is always here for the good of us. But the devil only has presence through the lies in what we surround ourselves with.
✨Speaking God's word out loud in display with others and in engagement is powerful.

One more story:
Wonder why she wanted her dentist job? In elementary school, her front two teeth were destroyed by some boy that kicked her in the face. Wow. They couldn’t get them fixed for a long time and this made her so self-conscious, not feeling beautiful or worthy. Yet finally in highschool she got her teeth fixed and felt much more confident and free. And that’s what she wants others to feel—confident and loving what they see when they look in the mirror. That’s how she knew she wanted to be a dentist. How cool is that?! And even more powerful was that this lady was making bold steps for Jesus despite being in a dentist career, that most people think wouldn't make a difference. But ALL jobs can be ministry. Your career shouldn’t stop you from sharing God’s love around you. Pursue that dream job you want!
Hope this encouraged you! You are so loved & beautiful - Olivia 💗
