The beauty of living for God

How do you know God is real? How do you know God is real? I sat with this message on my Christian Instagram, worried that I’ll approach it wrong. I tried to search on Google, from website to website. It felt like it was my responsibility to

I’ve seen so much of God in my lifetime that there is no way that I could deny his existence. He has made himself known to me in so many overwhelming ways. Speaking to me through the music I hear, the people in my life, the posts or videos I watch, the verses I read and so many other beautiful things. He’s made a way when there didn’t seem to be a way. I’ve felt Him with me when no one else was, He’s brought me hope when it all felt lost, and when nothing else eased my anxiety, He brought me peace. There is no other peace that comes over me than when I am aware of God’s presence. It is undeniable and not of this world.

‏‏‎

I’ve had people try to convince me God isn’t real and ask me all these scientific questions. And of course evidence like that is important, but I think the most powerful way is our personal experiences. The way God transformed our life. The unexplainable, indescribable moments that have reminded you of God’s love. It doesn’t have to be a big thing or a sign, because sometimes the littlest things have the most power. And if you’ve never felt His presence, it can be hard to understand, but if you want true joy and peace, unconditional love, a father, a friend, a defender. Whatever it is that you long for, God has for you. Things will not always go your way, yet you learn God’s way is infinitely times better and rewarding. You just got to hang on to your belief and to take a step of faith. ‏‏‎

Living for Christ is a different world then the one you come out of. It can be scary or uncomfortable but it will also be the best decision you will ever make. Giving our lives over to God is the most beautiful thing we could do.

‏‏‎

We become set apart in Christ. We become children of God. We get to learn and know the creator of the world. We realize we have true purpose through God's will. We have a father and friend who we can always turn to, someone who helps us carry our burdens. When we let go of the things of this world, and let in God, we aren’t losing anything, but gaining all we could ever need and more.

‏‏‎

But please know you are not alone when you struggle in your relationship with the Lord. I often have too, feeling disconnected or distant from God. And though He may feel far away, He is still truly with you, holding you through the storm. Trusting God in the unknown is what faith is about. You don’t need to know all the details to clearly see in the darkness, you need to let God be your guiding light.

‏‏‎

You’d think that it would be easier to just have Him walk up and to see Him right beside us. But that would disqualify what faith is truly about. “Live by Faith not by sight”. Those six words, appear so simple yet have such huge meaning. ‏‏‎

Walking by faith and not by sight means that we live out today according to God’s promises, even though we can not see them. Not according to the temporary things that our eyes often focus on here on earth. Not from a place of trusting our own understanding. But trusting and believing that God is still truly working for good in your life right now.

‏‏‎

If you chose to completely rely on your self-ability or the directions the world tells us, faith will be lost. Having faith in God is the only true way that you can fully rely on and experience life and love like no other.

He knows everything about you, yet He still desires to grow closer to you. You are loved and wanted by the King of Kings. We will all have unique journeys with Christ, but it always leads back to the truth that there is beauty in living for God. ♡

For we live by faith, not by sight.

- 2 Corinthians 5:7 ‏‏‎

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. - Proverbs 3:5-6

‏‏‎

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. - Hebrews 11:1
