Today, September 10th, is World Suicide Prevention day. 🤍 This day is so important to spread awareness and education. We should not only talk about suicide today and this month, but every month out of the year. On average, close to 708,000 people die by suicide each year. Every 20 seconds, someone somewhere attempts to take their own life.
This day is important to me, due to my own experience with suicidal thoughts & ideation. They have been so intense at times. I’ve tried to attempt and end my life, but by the grace of God I am still alive today and I’m grateful for that. But depression is the hardest thing I’ve had to battle and I know millions face it daily. Yet there is hope, there are better days.
Please remember to be always be kind, and make sure you are checking in on those people that you care about. You never know what someone could be going through.
Help is available. There is always a better alternative. Tomorrow needs you. Stay another day. I’m always here if you need to talk.
